PhD Student

B.S. West Chester University

Olivia Tharp is a first-year PhD student at the University of Delaware. Her research interests lie in the discovery and elucidation of new avenues for gene editing using the In Vitro Gene Editing System. She received her B.S. in Integrative Biology from West Chester University in 2021, and had previously worked with the Gene Editing Institute as a student intern. At the Gene Editing Institute, Olivia contributed to the development of a new model for in vitro gene correction. Her current research focus is on utilizing the in vitro gene editing system to predict CRISPR gene editing correction efficiencies at the single-base level.
