She received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Research from Delaware State University. Prior to joining GEI, she was part of Charles River’s R&D team where she developed the filamentous fungi assay to identify fungi using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. She was also an integral part of the efforts to develop the Accugenix® MALDI Library database for bacteria, yeasts, and filamentous fungi. She evaluated and developed potential microbial identification products and services. Her experience includes MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, Sanger sequencing and Next-Generation Sequencing. She’s also worked at Delaware State University’s neurodegeneration lab as a research assistant to identify a potential drug lead for treating frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
