Kathy Cao serves as Business Operations Manager for the Gene Editing Institute. In this role, Kathy leads the operations and finance of the institute, enhancing the institute’s operational capabilities as well as strengthening its financial systems.
Prior to joining the institute, Kathy was a senior Financial Analyst with ChristianaCare’s corporate finance team. In that role, Kathy was responsible for building multibillion-dollar operating budgets across the health system, as well as sophisticated financial modeling systems, including 5-year forecasting, cash forecasting, profitability analyses, and reporting packets and dashboards. Beyond ChristianaCare, Kathy has a background in biomedical engineering, giving her a unique skillset that combines finance and research.
Kathy holds an MBA in Healthcare Management and Financial Management from Johns Hopkins University, an MS in Accounting from the University of Delaware, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Biological Engineering from Jimei University.
