Lossie Freeman is the Director of Corporate Partnerships for Zip Code Wilmington, the first non-profit coding bootcamp in Delaware. She is responsible for driving new corporate relationships and other strategic partnerships, and cultivating existing corporate relationships, with ultimate responsibility for helping to place Zip Code graduates in paid technology jobs. Prior to that, she worked as Special Assistant to Mayor Mike Purzycki, Wilmington Delaware, where she was responsible for the Employment Initiatives and the development of an employment infrastructure for the recruitment, training, and placement of the city’s unemployed residents. 

Previously, Lossie worked as the VP of Global Business Development for Parnassus Global Agency, a communications consulting firm focused on public policy and global business development, where she assumed a newly created leadership role to identify strategic growth opportunities, build and cultivate global client relationships, and build creative solutions for clients. 

Ms. Freeman began her career on Wall Street where she worked for JPMorgan for 8 years. As an Internal Global Consultant, she assisted in the launch of their FX business in Seoul and a joint venture in Tokyo with DKB Bank to market mutual funds. She was a licensed broker-dealer on the JPM Listed Equity Trading Desk and a clerk on the New York Stock Exchange. She also worked in the program management office supporting an international team of 100+ technologists in a global credit risk management initiative. 

She studied abroad as a university student in Shanghai in 1995 and after graduate school, worked at the State Department at the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou, China in the Economic/Political section performing research to inform the Ambassador and D.C. policymakers. Lossie is a member of the Wilmington Rotary Club and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Salem Academy & College in Winston-Salem, NC, the Delaware Community Foundation Board of Directors, the Governor’s Commission on Community and Volunteer Service, and the ChristianaCare Health Services Board of Directors.
