John Routzahn

Student Intern

John is a senior undergraduate student at the University of Delaware pursuing a B.S in Applied Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. He is interning at the Gene Editing Institute as part of his degree program's practical laboratory rotations.

He has previously worked at the National Cancer Institute, where he studied tRNA dynamics and translation rates in acute myeloid leukemia. Additionally, during his time at academic laboratories at the University of Delaware, he has studied the structural biology of ATP-dependent proteases targeting Mycobacterium tuberculosis and studied thin films as model systems to gain a quantitative understanding of the fundamental thermodynamics and kinetics that underpin cation exchange reactions at the nanoscale.
