B.S. Mercyhurst University
M.S. Delaware State University

Pawel Bialk is a research scientist in the Gene Editing Institute and a team lead in the Genome Customization Core. Pawel’s focus is on the development of new technologies and applications related to gene editing. As a team lead in the Genome Customization Core, he manages all projects from initial design through data analysis. He is also part of the clinical development program centered on using gene editing as a therapy for advanced non-small cell lung carcinoma, focusing on pre-clinical studies and FDA regulatory requirements. He received his B.S. from Mercyhurst University and his M.S. in biology from Delaware State University, where he studied the potential of TALENs and CRISPR/Cas9 systems in conjunction with single-stranded DNA repair templates to enhance the efficiency of specific events in the gene editing reaction.
